Books give me butterflies and light me up inside, but romanticizing the past and creating a life about historical characters is an even more delicious treat.
As a child, I would pretend to be the main character from my favorite novel. Anywhere and everywhere, I saw myself looking at the world around me from their point of view.
My backyard with the chain link fence facing the highway? Suddenly it was a world of wonders waiting to be discovered. Out I’d go with my imaginary straw hat, petticoat, and small wicker basket, pretending to collect all sorts of flowers and herbs as well as commune with the faery folk.
The hobby, turned college degree, that stole my heart was writing & editing.
